The Kumejima Ocean Jet is committed to accessibility. Wheelchair users and passengers with disabilities can board with staff assistance. Specific accessibility features and disability discount details will be announced before the May 1, 2026 launch. Contact KOJ in advance to arrange special assistance.
Wheelchair Access

Boarding assistance for wheelchair users is available with advance notice. Contact KOJ through ko-jet.com at least 48 hours before your sailing to arrange assistance. The Tomari Wharf terminal has elevator access. See our Tomarin Guide for facility details.
Disability Discounts

Disability discount details are expected to be announced before launch. Japanese disability certificates (障害者手帳) are typically accepted for ferry discounts in Okinawa.
Kumejima Ocean Jet is committed to making high-speed ferry travel accessible to all passengers. The jetfoil vessel “Tsumugi” features barrier-free facilities including wheelchair-accessible boarding ramps, priority seating areas near the entrance, and accessible restrooms on the main deck. Staff members are trained to assist passengers with mobility needs, and wheelchair users can board through a dedicated entrance with minimal steps.
For passengers with visual or hearing impairments, onboard announcements are displayed on electronic screens in Japanese and English. Service animals are welcome aboard at no additional charge. If you require special assistance, it is recommended to contact the booking office at least 24 hours before departure so that staff can prepare appropriate arrangements for your journey.
Passengers requiring wheelchair assistance should inform staff at the ticket counter during check-in. The boarding process is designed to accommodate mobility aids, and port staff will guide you through the accessible route to the vessel.
