What is Kumejima Ocean Jet (KOJ)?
Kumejima Ocean Jet (KOJ) is a high-speed jetfoil service connecting Naha and Kumejima Island in Okinawa, Japan. The vessel “Tsumugi” launched on May 1, 2026, and covers the 82-minute route on hydrofoil technology, gliding above the water surface for a smooth, stable ride.
Before KOJ launched, travelers had to choose between a flight (~30 min, expensive) or a slow ferry (~3 hours). Now KOJ offers an 82-minute sea voyage at a reasonable price.
